with Special Guests
Brighton based Julian Nicholas: saxophonist, composer, educator and now co-curator of the South Coast Jazz Festival
Julian was a student of the great Bobby Wellins, and appropriately possesses a beautiful, lyrical and unique sound on Alto, tenor and soprano saxophones. First gaining recognition with the iconic ‘Loose Tubes’ in the 90’s, he has gone on to work with an impressive array of artists including Iain Ballamy, Jimmy Witherspoon, Harry ‘sweets’ Eddison, Selina Jones, Eddie Parker, Kirk Lightsey, Belle and Sebastian and Carleen Anderson and Hot Chocolate to name but a few.

Our 2nd guest is London-based vocalist and lyricist Peter Jones.
His new album of original tunes, Under the Setting Sun, has received rave reviews: 'An atmospheric and superbly-executed collection of late-night vibes and sentiments', wrote London Jazz News, while UK Vibe described the album as 'beautifully crafted and delivered'. Influenced by the great Mark Murphy (about whom he has written a book, due for publication next March), Peter's mature baritone voice is equally at home with swinging bebop or ballads.
